Hailing from the east coast, Vista, is not your typical rock band. Having found much success in such a short amount of time, this female-fronted band has no plans of slowing down any time soon. If you're a fan of bands such as PVRIS, Set It Off, or even Against The Current, Vista is definitely a band you will want to check out! Just recently, the band put out their new EP titled, Versus, and has since been featured in a number of write ups for various music magazines and blogs. They even took the time to chat with us a bit too! Check it out!

To start things off, could you introduce yourselves and tell us a bit about how you guys became VISTA?

VISTA: Hey! We’re VISTA, an anthem rock band originally from New Jersey. Our lead vocalist is Hope Vista, and she also plays guitar, is our primary songwriter, and actually our publicist, as well. She has her own PR company on the side, 25/8 PR.

Now you guys haven't been together that long as a band, but it seems like you guys have gotten a lot done in such a short amount of time and have definitely hit the ground running. Would you agree?

VISTA: For sure! We got an EP out pretty quickly and have had some really killer press so far. There’s definitely still a lot we want to accomplish this year, we’re only about halfway through, but it still feels like it’s been much longer!

So you guys recently released your EP "VERSUS" how has the reception from the fans been since the release?

VISTA: We think it’s been pretty good! The social media reaction was so much more than we ever could’ve expected it to be. It’s always awesome to see listeners reacting well to your creative ideas and finding something special in what you’ve come up with. That’s the best part about all this; sharing what we’ve been able to create.

How was your time in the studio recording the EP?

VISTA: Pretty stressful, honestly. We were on a time crunch with our producer and we live in separate states, so the process really was a race against time. On the last day of recording, Hope was actually so stuck trying to write the last two lines of “I Hope You Understand,” that she would write a line, record it quickly, and then repeat that a few times. It was a good test though, just to kind of see how we could work under pressure. We actually only had 2 days all together to track the instruments, and Hope recorded the vocals separately!

Personally, my favorite song off the EP is "I Hope You Understand", do you guys have a personal favorite? Or a particular song that you had the most fun writing/recording?

VISTA: Thank you! That one’s definitely jam packed with energy, they all are. All 4 tracks are upbeat and filled out with an insane amount of passion. Brian’s favorite is “The Departed,” the bridge in that song is Hope’s favorite, too. But her favorite overall is “Mansions,” it’s just got this dark, heart-wrenching, haunting kind of vibe that’s so… Hope.

Now that all is said and done and the EP has been released, do you guys have any plans to go on any tours or play any shows in support of the release?

VISTA: We do! We can’t really talk about any of those plans yet until they’re 100% solidified, but we’ll for sure be around this summer and in early fall! Once everything is set, we’ll announce our plans right away!

& Maybe this is jumping ahead a bit, but is there any other music in the works at the moment? Perhaps a follow up release?

VISTA: We’re actually planning on releasing a stand-alone single this summer and possibly work on another EP at the end of this year! The new EP is still super fresh, but we want to make sure we have a steady fLow of content and keep listeners on their toes, as well as have a good discography! We haven’t started working on that summer single yet, but hopefully we’ll be able to jump on it soon.

& Before we wrap things up, is there anything you guys would like to say to your fans and listeners?

VISTA: Enjoy “VERSUS,” and hope to see you out on the road this summer and fall!! Thank you for the interview!
