Remembering Christina Grimmie

As I'm sure you have heard by now, 22-year old singer and The Voice contestant, Christina Grimmie, was shot and killed while signing autographs after a performance in Orlando, Florida yesterday evening. A 21-year old male entered the venue with two loaded handguns and a hunting knife and shot the 22-year old singer, immediately after the shots were fired, Christina's brother, Marcus Grimmie, tackled the shooter to the ground where he then took his own life.

Hearing a tragedy such as this can only make you think, "why?" So many artists, including Grimmie, look at concerts and their venues as safe haven for themselves and their fans. Concerts and shows are a place that artists go to share their passion with their fans.

In a time like this, we must not remember the sick monster who did this for what he has done, but we must remember Christina for her passion, talent, and the beautiful soul that she was. From putting together her own youtube channel and building a fan based, to going out to audition for The Voice, where she made quite a remarkable impression, to touring around the country to meet, perform for, and spend time with her fans. Christina Grimmie made it plain to see that she had a heart as pure as gold.

So in this time of tragedy, think of Christina, think of her friends, think of her family, her brother Marcus, and her fans. Rest in peace, Christina.
